Sunday, October 9th, 2022, our WWII Navy Veteran Roman Celebrates his 100th Birthday here at Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family from near and far.

Roman was surprised with a full afternoon of events. Roman was greeted by two men from the Naval Weapons Station Earle and received a letter. Our Toms River Mayor Maurice Hill read and presented Roman with a Proclamation declaring Oct. 10th Roman Charkowski’s Day. Rep. Chris Smith attended the event. A drive by was presented by The Combat Veterans American Motorcycle Association from the American Legion of Toms River, the Pleasant Plains Fire Co. and the Motorcycle Committee Howell Lodge. Roman appreciates everyone who put this day together for him especially his daughter.
